The Global Sumud Flotilla strongly rejected Israel’s claims that boats heading to Gaza carried no humanitarian aid, calling the accusations “black propaganda.” Speaking in Ankara, Türkiye, delegation coordinator Huseyin Durmaz said the flotilla was fully loaded with humanitarian supplies and had invited international observers to inspect the cargo. He accused Israel of using slander and media manipulation to undermine the flotilla and intimidate activists. Durmaz also condemned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for labeling detained activists as “terrorists,” saying such statements reveal Israel’s disregard for international law. Israeli forces recently seized the flotilla’s ships, detaining more than 450 activists from over 50 countries. The mission aimed to break the blockade on Gaza, where nearly 2.4 million people face famine and medicine shortages after years of siege.
