Visiting a Thai Village in Isaan DID I ACCIDENTALLY GET MARRIED?

Описание к видео Visiting a Thai Village in Isaan DID I ACCIDENTALLY GET MARRIED?

We've made it to the furthest destination in our Isaan road trip, Sakhon Nakhon. We spend a few days in the family home occasionally venturing out to stock up on food and beer and a trip to the Naga Temple in Wat Kham Chanot to pay respects and gain "luck".

I don't really agree with this buying luck thing the Thai's seem to believe in. It's obvious that these places have mutated into tourist attractions and are all about money. The spiritual side of it seems to have been lost. It was still an interesting experience though and it's good to be able to see it for what it is and also what it may once have been.

In this video we learn about the "string ceremony" Baci, how carpets are made and the art of chewing betel nut.

Life in Isaan is great for a few days but you soon start to miss what you know from a western lifestyle. It's a little too far in the basic direction for me. Although, no matter how basic it gets, the younger generation of Thai people always seem to have smartphones and WiFi so that was handy.
