A group of students, together with Oglethorpe’s Student Government Association, successfully led an initiative to acquire a work of art for the museum’s permanent collection that reflects the diversity of the Oglethorpe University student body.

SGA voted to approve funding for the purchase of a painting by Atlanta native Shanequa Gay. This is the first known effort of its kind.
