"Radical Reversal" explores how art can play a pivotal role in social justice while providing pathways for artists to give back. A collaboration between poet Randall Horton and composer Devin B Waldman, the artists seek to improve the quality of life for those within the criminal justice system. Focusing on Minnesota Correctional Facility-Shakopee and Suffolk County Detention Center in Boston, the work will provide a way for women and men to reclaim their humanity through the creative process. "Radical Reversal" will set up a recording studio and performance space at the two facilities, where participants will be able to create poetry and music, play, and learn the process of digital editing. The project culminates with cultivated bands within both facilities performing a livestream of their work. ​​The equipment will live as permanent fixtures, allowing the space to be utilized long after the physical performance.
