Highlights from the 73rd Aldeburgh Festival, a 24-day celebration of music and the arts. The Festival welcomed featured artists including violinist Nicola Benedetti, organist Anna Lapwood, cellist Laura van der Heijden, clarinettist Mark Simpson, percussionist Vivi Vassileva, Kalediscope Chamber Collective, and composer and conductor Ryan Wigglesworth. Featured composers included Tom Coult, Bushra El-Turk and Gavin Higgins. The exhibitions included 'Britten & Women' at the Red House and artworks by Paul Benney, Laurence Edwards, Kiki Smith and John Craxton at Snape Maltings. Composers pay musical tribute to the late Oliver Knussen who would have turned 70 in June 2022.

The Festival saw the most substantial commitment to new music in its history with over 50 first performances, 19 of which were commissioned by Britten Pears Arts.
