The cross-examination of Kenneth "Woody" Copeland is approaching, and Young Thug's lawyer Brian Steel wants to ask him about the June 10 ex parte meeting with prosecutors and now-recused Judge Ural Glanville. One problem: The new judge, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, said today (Friday, August 16, day 113) that she won't allow questions about Glanville because she doesn't believe they are relevant to the case.

03:35 "I will make it clear I am excluding this Honorable Court. But Judge Glanville pressured him," Steel says.

"I'm not here to hurt Judge Glanville," Steel says, as if that's relevant to anything. Judge Whitaker says she's not protecting Judge Glanville, rather, she believes questions about Glanville are irrelevant and the issues involving Woody's testimony has been addressed. She also points out that the defense could have struck all of Woody's testimony, but they wanted to keep the early stuff because they think there's helpful stuff in there for them.

06:25 "I will follow your rule, obviously," Steel says, before going on to say he plans to ask Woody questions about Judge Glanville. "I don't believe you should limit the cross-examination."
