The biannual Herbert W. Vaughan Academic Panel featured a talk by Lawrence Alexander, Warren Distinguished Professor of Law (University of San Diego Law School), on the relation between law and politics, as well as a panel discussion with Dr. James Stoner, Hermann Moyse Jr. Professor and Director of the Eric Voegelin Institute in the Department of Political Science (Louisiana State University); and Dr. Matthew Franck, Director – William E. and Carol G. Simon Center on Religion and the Constitution (The Witherspoon Institute).

The event was moderated by Mary Ann Glendon, Learned Hand Professor of Law at HLS, and cosponsored by the Federalist Society.
