1977 World Series, Game 6 (WCBS Radio Broadcast) (Reggie!)

Описание к видео 1977 World Series, Game 6 (WCBS Radio Broadcast) (Reggie!)

-To mark the 40th anniversary of the Yankees 1977 World Championship, here is the complete radio broadcast of Game 6 of the World Series, where the Yankees wrapped things up on a night when Reggie Jackson entered baseball immortality with three home runs on three pitches.

-There have been other versions of this radio broadcast available before but NEVER in this quality or clarity or completeness for that matter. This was part of a lot of reel to reel tapes I obtained in the past year and it has everything from the pregame show with Ralph Kiner, through the full game broadcast with Win Elliot and Dodger announcer Ross Porter (CBS Radio was continuing the old practice of having a local team announcer from the road team in the World Series. Bill White of the Yankees did the games in Los Angeles), and finally 15 minutes of WCBS Radio after the game featuring the early local reactions to the Yankee championship. After that point, the taper then switched to the postgame on the regular Yankee station WMCA where Mel Allen and John Sterling were doing their own show and that is in a separate upload.

-A great night for Yankee fans, and still a great night in baseball history all these years later!
