Building a Pig Shelter With Pallets (Vlog)

The day has arrived and we finally have pigs on our homestead!  We have never raised pigs before but we are going to give it our best shot.  You might have noticed a theme lately that is: fencing.  Dominic shares his fencing strategy to get the high tensile wire electric fence around the very uneven ground of our wooded lot. 

Dominic and Scott build a very cute (albeit heavy) pig shelter.  The plan is to move this shelter around the property with the pigs.  We don't mention it in the video but to the description readers I will let you in on a secret: That shelter is way too heavy to move so we are hatching up other plans.  Stay tuned.

The pigs are a delightful addition.  The broiler chicks are growing fast!  

We have grand ideas of permaculture on this homestead and plan to move the pigs through the woods, thin out the trees, spread seed, and have a nice pasture as early as next year.  We will see what happens!
