The fracture resistance of EQUIA Forte was compared to 3 other GIC materials filled in Class II type cavities, EQUIA Forte showed significantly better fracture resistance to compression, when compared to other materials. The study “Compression Fracture Resistance of four different Glass-ionomer cements” was conducted by Glavina at al. of the School of Dental Medicine University of Zagreb, Croatia. The aim of this study was to compare fracture resistance to compression of four different GIC materials filled in Class II type cavities. Zirconia ceramic Class II cavities were prepared in a standard preparation method. Each test group consisted of 6 samples (models). The class II cavities were filled as per manufacturer’s instructions and a sectional (anatomical) matrix system was used. Each specimen was tested in a universal testing machine and loaded to fracture. Equia Forte showed significantly better fracture resistance comparing to all other materials. This study has been presented at the ConsEuro in London 2015 hosted by King's College London Dental Institute and the abstract has been published in Clin Oral Invest (2015) 19:1701–1754.
