In this lesson, you will learn how to apply the Pythagorean Theorem to problems in the xy coordinate plane. We need to apply the pythagorean theorem, which is c^2 = a^2 + b^2. To do this, we look at the points in the plane and subtract the y-coordinates and subtract the x-coordinates to find the values of a and b in the equation, the use the pythagorean theorem to find the straight line distance between the two points.
