Het zelf varen in het Nederlandse dorpje Giethoorn is erg populair. Niet alleen voor de Nederlanders, maar vooral ook voor de vele honderdduizenden Chinese toeristen die jaarlijks deze typische toeristische attractie bezoeken. Dat het varen makkelijker lijkt dan het in werkelijkheid is, blijkt uit de video die ik hier geplaatst heb. Zelfs met hele kleine bootjes is het vaak lastig manoeuvreren en dus ook om botsingen te voorkomen. Velen denken dat een boot op dezelfde manier stuurt als een auto, maar dat is een grote vergissing.
