These little trees are such fun to make, and the magic? Well, that would be the colour changing lights inside! So, sit back, relax, and watch as I take you step by step through the process. Then have some fun and make your own 😊 NB: Never use a naked flame next to Polymer Clay, only battery tea lights, that is very important!!
The music from the video is English Country Garden by Aaron Kenny and Waterfall by Aakash Gandhi, both available from the YouTube Free Audio Library.

The Staggered Stencil Sets should be available from Polymer Clay UK’s Etsy store - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/UKPolyme... Although the store is having a short break at the moment. In the meantime, and until they are back, the largest circle I use is approx. 7.75 inches (20cm) diameter on its outer edge, the next size down is approx. 7 inches (18cm) on its outer edge, so you can draw some yourselves.
I got the battery operated colour changing Tea Lights from Amazon, but I am sure they are available from stores all over the place, so just hunt down the best offer. Search under ‘Battery Operated Tea Lights Multi Coloured’. Remember – only battery ones, not real flames!
The circle sizes I use are approx. – 7.75, 7 and 6.5 inches (20, 18, 16 cm) in diameter.
The tree colours are, going from left to right: 1. Green (Emerald Green, Tropical Green, Peppermint and Aqua.) 2. Blue – (Windsor Blue, Pacific Blue, Peppermint and Aqua.) 3. Sage Green – (Emerald Green, Tropical Green, Gold and White.) 4. Purple – (Plum, Raspberry, Lilac, and Rose.) 5. Dark Blue – (Brilliant Blue, Emerald Green, Mint and White.) 6. Red – (Cherry Red, Indian Red, Gold and White.)
When I condition the clay using my pasta machine, I use setting 3, I do the Skinner Blend through setting 2, the very thin sheet for the translucent clay is put through setting 8.
If you do not have a pasta machine you can roll the sheet of clay between two even stacks of playing cards. Setting 8 on my machine is 1 playing card thickness, setting 3 is 5 cards and setting 2 is 6 cards thickness.
Thank you so much for watching.
