One change in particular was the in game mechanic known to the player base as "ON DEATH EFFECTS". This mechanic is a one shot kill mechanic to slow players down and is 100% unavoidable.

@ 2:32 GGG said the following;
"In addition, elemental explosion effects have had visibility improved, stick around for longer before they explode AND DISAPPEAR WITHOUT EXPLODING IF A RARE MONSTER DIES."

I rage quit the game w/ my L90 3 days before this video was posted bc of the ON DEATH EFFECTS. I was dying about every 2 hrs bc of these mechanics resulting in the 2-3 hr loss of exp grind along with my waystone aka map.

I had no plans to return to the game as this was the straw that broke the camels back but then they released their patch video claiming they had removed this mechanic.

On Saturday Jan 18, 2025 I died twice to ON DEATH EFFECTS as I was progressing thru the Cruel Campaign. While I did not suffer exp loss or a way stone is irrelevant as it will be relevant in the end game aka maps.

I can't even begin to comprehend why such a mechanic exists as I've NEVER played a game that had such a mechanic in my 45 years of gaming. Furthermore, I don't understand why GGG LIED about removing the mechanic.
