Is chocolate good for you, or should we steer clear of it? Although chocolate consumption dates back to Central America over 3500 years ago we now consume an estimated 7.2 million metric tons annually in the world today. Chocolate has become one of the most popular food types and flavours in the world, and a vast number of foodstuffs involving chocolate have been created to satisfy the demand but does eating chocolate do you any good? In this short film The Open University’s Dr Claire Turner from the Department of Life, Health & Chemical Sciences touches upon possible nutritional benefits of the world’s favourite sweet.
