PT-AE8000U Review

I love this projector. It's lens shifting lever allows the projector to reposition it's projected image 100% up and down and 26% left and right, so paired with it's zooming capabilities, it can be placed almost anywhere and still be perfectly positioned within the screen borders! Most projectors have just a few inches of picture relocation flexibility, but with the PT-AE8000U I can put it exactly where I need it, not where IT needs to be.

It's unbelievable brightness and contrast ratio paired with it's ability to automatically switch from 16:9 (HDTV) to 2.35:1 (CinemaScope widescreen) and it's stunning 2D-3D conversion of absolutely any source footage places it solidly at the top of the list of projectors under $3,000! In fact, after fine tuning and saving one of the five 3D modes to my family's liking, I believe that the PT-AE8000U's 2D to 3D conversion quality makes 2D high def video look better than native 3D movies at the theater! It's 500,000:1 contrast ratio can stand side by side with any LCD TV and the color waveform advanced editing features allow for total customization of the projected image for optimization in your particular space.

From 15 feet back, our 115" CineTension 2 CinemaScope motorized screen, paired with the PT-AE8000U, is like having a 3D IMAX screen in our living room. I'm never paying $50 to take the family to the movie theater again because we can share a better, brighter, more comfortable and private experience at home!
