How to Change Phone Camera Settings for External Microphone (Works for ANY phone)

EDIT: This quit working so I had to upgrade to the LG V40 ThinQ (it is spectacular), which I now use for all of my video filing and editing. The best part is the amount of data it can hold (up to 2 TB micro sd card) and the resolution/speed of the device.

Everything basically works the same as the LG G5 did, but much better and with a built-in telescope lens. I would highly recommend investing in the V40 if you are having troubles (as many of you are now in the comments). Technology evolves rapidly and the apps work best when you upgrade every two or three years. Comment below so I can get feedback!
