David N Johnson (1922-1987) was an American organist and composer. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and after service in the Army Signal Corps, continued his studies at Trinity University (Texas) and Syracuse University. He published over 300 compositions, mainly for church use as well as instructional material for organists.
This piece, which dates from 1962, is the signature tune for the radio show 'With Heart and Voice' and was arranged for string orchestra as one of two processional pieces for the wedding of Richard Nixon's daughter, Tricia, in 1971.
