I unwittingly stumbled into a history lesson thanks to this piece. One of the Boys is a hard to find score, also scored for orchestra, published by Sol Bloom In New York City in 1906. Apparently sub-titled "The Novelty Two Step", it is a very nice piece well worth preserving and reviving. Evelyn Bloom was Sol Bloom's wife (married in 1897) and published several other scores besides this one.

Sol Bloom started out as a songwriter and then music entrepreneur, first working for the big house M. Witmark in Chicago and later moving to New York City and starting his own publishing business. In 1923 he was elected to Congress as a representative from New York City and went on to serve 26 years in that role. He was a leading Jewish politician, very outspoken for the cause of Jewish rights at home and abroad, and contributed to American foreign policy in the 1930s and 1940s.
