This video presents how to control a LED diode with on a ESP8266 (WeMos) WiFi microchip. The software used in this example implements a web server on ESP8266. Link to the code: https://gist.github.com/mikbuch/212cf...

The device connects to the local network (LAN), and the diode can be controlled and/or monitored with REST requests.

The code was prepared in Adruino IDE on xubuntu Linux. The web server was tested using a laptop with a Linux system (xubuntu, i.e., ubuntu with XFCE desktop environment) — using Firefox browser, and with an iPhone device — using Safari.

1. File; Preferences
2. In "Additional Board Manager URLs" (at the bottom), paste the following link:

3. Tools; Board; Board Managers
4. Type in the search: "esp"
5. Install the community package "esp8266"
6. Tools; Boards; ESP8266 Boards; WEMOS D1 R1 mini
