Program Notes:
“Dwellings” was written after a flash of inspiration while waving my hand in front of the small lamp in my room in order to create shadow images in the opposing wall. Very bored, I attempted to make the typical shadow figures such as a dog and rabbit and eventually came up with my own shapes, two of which I waved around as if they were dancing and conversing. I came up with a short story of two shadows meeting in the depths of darkness where they shared things with each other, had a conversation , had fun, but ultimately had to say goodbye to one another.
