Skull Kid's internal turmoil lies at the center of the entirety of the plot of the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask's plot. Skull Kid is a character whose story is laced with depth and nuance. After thinking that his friends abandoned him he began acting out at the expense of the citizens of Termina. We can use the ideas of Applied Behavioral Analysis, to help us to determine that Skull Kid likely because the function of his behaviors was to receive attention, even if it was negative from his former friends. We also explore the morality of Skull Kid's actions, how the world of Termina and its residents are actually a physical manifestation of Skull Kid's grief and negative feelings, and how Link is able to help him to resolve and mediate his loneliness, grief, and move past this darkness that was exacerbated by Majora's Mask. So celebrate Halloween with us as we explore such a fascinating character from such a unique game.

I do want to note that all counselors will come at situations from different theoretical orientations, backgrounds, and belief systems. My opinions correlate with my own education and professional experience up to this point in my education as a Master's level counseling student.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It was released in 2000 as the sixth main installment in The Legend of Zelda series and was the second to use 3D graphics, following 1998's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, to which it is a direct sequel. The plot's antagonist is a mischievous imp called the Skull Kid who has stolen a powerful, ancient artifact called Majora's Mask from an enigmatic traveling mask salesman.
