So, if you are in for a quick campfire dessert experience straight out of your oven, then these smores’ cookies are the right choice for you. My kids and their friends loved them very much. My youngest one loves taking it to school for his after-lunch dessert.😍

My smores’ cookies taste wonderful even days after baking. I usually don't like chocolate chip cookies the way they taste on the second day but these are my favorite too.
Homemade marshmallows, graham crackers, and of course our very own cookie dough will for sure taste exceptional as compared to the store-bought ones.

I like my cookies baked for an extra few minutes but my kids like it more on the underbake side. At the end of the video, you can see the three cookies that I overbaked for myself.

Smores’ Cookies

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt

Sift the dry ingredients and set them aside.

¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla paste
1½ cups chocolate morsels
1 cup broken pieces of graham crackers
1 cup marshmallow pieces

Instructions:

Combine butter and shortening. Add the sugars and whisk them well till creamy and pale. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Whisk it well.
Add the dry ingredients to it along with the chocolate chips. You can add the graham crackers pieces to the dough at this point or just use them as I did in the video. Combine with a spatula. Use a muffin scoop for large cookies or a cookie scoop for normal-sized cookies.

Scoop out the dough, and make a dent in the center. Push a marshmallow piece in the center and refrigerate it for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 375°F. Bake one tray at a time for 10-11 minutes. Take them out and leave them undisturbed for five minutes.
Then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Note: If you like well-done cookies like I do then bake them longer for 14 minutes. You can use butter instead of shortening.
