High Point University Presents a Conversation with Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Dr. Nido R. Qubein

As part of an ongoing commitment to community enrichment, UNC-TV will air High Point University’s “Access to Innovators” speaker series.

Dr. Condoleezza Rice, former Secretary of State

From January 2005-2009, Rice served as the 66th Secretary of State of the United States, the second woman and first African American woman to hold the post. Rice also served as President George W. Bush’s assistant to the President for national security affairs (National Security Advisor) from January 2001-2005, the first woman to hold the position.

As Secretary of State, Rice championed the idea of “Transformational Diplomacy,” which expanded the number of diplomatic governments throughout the world. She also helped successfully negotiate several agreements in the Middle East. Rice has appeared four times on Time Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people. She currently serves as a professor at Stanford University and was HPU’s 2016 Commencement Speaker.
