SORRY, No Links to get Unreal Gold anymore as Epic has decided to Delist the game everywhere for some stupid reason? i suggest finding a physical copy somewhere. or do some searching on the internet i guess.

I Discovered some awesome mods for Unreal Gold Edition!

in this video i am using a unofficial Patch which add in support for Directx 8 ,9 & 11 renderers as well as support for OpenGL renderer. comes with additional fixes and hi res character models, adds in screen space reflections as well as wide screen support and the ability to change the framerate cap and the screen refresh rate as well. included with these mods is Readme files that explain how to install them. its real easy to do. the mods should work with the retail box copy of the game provided all official patches are installed but here i am using the Steam Version of the game. so no official patches will be required for this to work.

1.first install the unofficial Patch which you can get here:https://www.oldunreal.com/downloads/u...

NOTE: SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND UNDER DOWNLOADS SELECT UNREALGOLDPATCH227i.7z

extract and install to your main unreal gold install folder. you may have to copy the file path and paste it into the install path if the game is installed on another drive than your c drive.

2. once you've installed the patch next thing is to install the directx 11 renderer. get it Here:https://www.moddb.com/mods/unreal-dir...

NOTE: once downloaded, extract it, open it up and then open the common folder, copy the contents to the SYSTEM folder in your unreal gold install path.
next, open the Unreal_gold_2271 folder and copy all contents into the SYSTEM folder in your unreal gold install path.
NOTE: when launching the game for the first time it should ask you what renderer you want to use, if dx11 does not show up in the list, select SUPPORTED DEVICES and it should show, select it and you should be able to launch the game in that renderer. i highly recommend using dx11 if you want to use the 4k textures. if the game does not launch the renderer select menu u can launch it within the game by selecting preferences and then video option tab and you will see a button in that menu for selecting renderer.

the next thing is coping over the texture packs,

now there are 2 texture packs i recommend installing, one for parallax textures and one for 4k hi rez textures

these are super easy to install for both the Parallax textures and the 4k textures all you have to do is extract them to a folder and then copy all of the contents within the texture folders and paste them into your texture folder in your unreal gold install path. make sure to copy the contents within and not the texture folder itself. overwrite if it asks.
