Education
Providing a high-quality education for all children is critical to Henry County's economic future. Our county's economic competitiveness and the path to the American Dream depend on providing every child with an education that will enable them to succeed in a global economy that is predicated on knowledge and innovation. I am committed to working with our local board of education and schools to assure that we are providing every child access to a complete and competitive education, from cradle through career. I will work hard to make sure that our youth have programs in the community. That is why I am advocating along with many citizens of this county to bring a Boys & Girls Club of Henry County.

Community matters. Partnerships work.
Good government and neighborhood quality of life go hand in hand. As your County Commissioner Chair, these will be the principals that guide me.

Creating A One Henry Where All Citizens Matter.

Public Safety
I recognize that the police and fire and first responders are a top priority for our county budget, and I will fight for the public investment it takes to keep our streets and homes safe. Security also means a planning process that protects our neighborhoods and promotes citizen participation, channeling development and growth to enhance rather than diminish our quality of life and property values. If our neighborhoods aren't safe, Henry County citizens will leave. Showing our county's weakness by decreasing our services will only lead to more crime and not enough skilled professionals to process the crime scenes efficiently. We should continue to promote the C.O.P.S. program. We MUST keep public safety strong. This is nonnegotiable.

A Proven Community Leader
Together with the citizens of Henry County, I will lead our amazing county forward in the right direction. Together, we will repair the budget with innovative and sustainable solutions without damaging vital services such as public safety. Developing plans for our economic future is vital. We must seek out all options to develop revenue before we opt to increase taxes.

Job Creation

Now more than ever, Henry County residents need quality employment opportunities closer to home. To that end, I will focus on the need to make Henry a desirable place to do business. I will work hard to hold the line on business taxes and bringing stability back to County government. I have been actively involved in economic development throughout the state and look forward to the efforts of growing future business investment and additional jobs.

Sustainable Development/Transportation
I envision working with the Cities and a broad coalition of allies to turn the various unused sites into vibrant neighborhoods with new businesses and housing. To do so, we must set out to build relationships among Henry County's diverse population of residents and entrepreneurs, as well as the property owners and public agencies with an innovative civic initiative. I would like to see districts throughout the county and cities thriving, walkable, transit-oriented community for residents and businesses. We can redevelop communities in smart growth ways.
