Shirley Abicair is one of those Australian success stories that has 'flown under the radar'. Shirley was one of several Australian singers/actors who ventured to England in the 1950s. She recorded a number of 45s & LPs, appeared on TV and acted in movies. In 1960, she returned to Australia and hosted a short-lived ABC TV show (review on a slide in the video). In the mid-60s, she ventured into the Pop Music field. "This Girl" (Lennon-McCartney) was the A side of her final 45, released in Australia; a beautiful dreamy Pop sound.
