UPDATE:. We are now using this fan with a 15amp variable speed controller and operate low speed at about 2/3 power mostly for quite operation, so far so good.

1/23 UPDATE
We have some long hair sometimes and have put a 16" x 16" x 1" filter on the back with a bungie and have had success for years thus far.
