Very Rusty Fuel Pump Lock Ring on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe

Brass Punch and Mallet did NOT work for me. I spent weeks trying to remove the lock ring, in the end I purchased a Black Fuel Tank Lock Ring Tool #6599 from Ebay for $35.00 and it was well worth it. I don't think I'll ever need the tool again but I had it off within 5 minutes by using my 1/2 drive impact and the Lock Ring Tool #6599.
