Documentation is absolutely crucial for every project. I've seen a lot of documentation where the WHY is not described or explained. There are so many different ways to build things in Salesforce and it is SO important to document WHY something was built in such a way.
Best tips for good Salesforce documentation is to include WHAT, HOW and WHY! Make something that is easy to read and easy to understand!
