S1 – Ep 207 – Zastron – An Agricultural Town 30km From the Border of Lesotho!

The gravel roads we decide to travel on all seem to be fantastic and this one was no different. Spectacular scenery, wildlife and loads more. Then we arrived in the agricultural town of Zastron which is located in the Free State, about 30km from the border of Lesotho. I just love the fact that the whole mountain range is called Aasvoelberg which means Vulture Mountain in English because of the feeding project close by for the rare Cape Vulture and for these amazing birds which call these mountains home. We took a slow drive through the town and came across Ons Hotel which also has an amazing history and the owners have taken great care in restoring it. This is a must-stop to hear all the fantastic stories.
