The Boreal Express: A Hackathon Across Canada

This is the story of a transcontinental hackathon bound journey across Canada, all throughout Jasper, Winnipeg, and Toronto.

On July 21st, a train full of hack clubbers embarked on an 8-day challenge to build projects centered around helping the environment, but were abruptly stopped at the very first destination, due to raging forest fires engulfing Canada.

While spirits were low, no one was sure whether this meant the cancellation of the event, or a shortened trip, but one thing was clear: These teenagers saw the real-world effects of climate change right before their eyes.
