Sheet Metal Guillotine Introduction - Design at Loughborough University

Designers need to understand the properties and applications of all materials and our students are given hands-on training as part of their knowledge and skills advancement. This video shows how to use our guillotine for cutting metal.

Our metal fabrication workshop is used for the cutting, brazing/welding and assembly of metal prototypes. Students are taught how to safety use hand tools, guillotines and brazing techniques to form and join sheet metal. A baby pram attachment to a wheelchair was one of the prototypes manufactured within this facility recently.
