Norfolk and Western Shops in Roanoke, Virginia

In the heart of the city of Roanoke, Virginia. Just checking out the original Norfolk and Western Shops where they made steam locomotives. One particular locomotive was built here which was the famous "J" Class 611. Out of 14 trains, only ONE exists today. This place has been here for over 100 years, of course they have made changes since then. I looked at an article that they closed down the shop here in May of 2020. Its a real shame that a place like this, which made EXCELLENT steam trains, is dwindling down. Back in its "hey day", this place was employed by thousands of workers who gave there time and dedication to building one of the best steam locomotives around the United States.
