Assessing a Bernina 1000 Series Sewing Machine (Designer 1000)

Описание к видео Assessing a Bernina 1000 Series Sewing Machine (Designer 1000)

If you're looking to pick up a Bernina 1000 series sewing machine or if you own one already and just want to give it a quick check over then this video is for you.

These sewing machines are generally very reliable but it pays to check the motor brushes, just in case they are wearing. If the motor brushes wear out completely, that can cause major damage to the motor.

The foot controller has a capacitor in it that can cause some issues with motor speed and control-ability.

I show how to remove the hand wheel, side cover and rear cover.
Caution! - Removing the rear cover exposes live wiring if the foot controller is plugged in and powered up. Make sure not to plug the foot controller while the rear cover is off.
