Mikko Alatalo, mentioned in the episode, is a legendary Finnish musician who was elected to the parliament in the 2003 elections as a representative of the Centre Party. She shouted "Spruce branches, damn it!" at the World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 1987 while skiing the five-kilometer classical race, where she also won gold.
