Arkansas would sack the Longhorn quarterbacks eight times and hold them to -27 rushing yards. It was the Hogs first Cotton Bowl since 1990 and first win in it since a 31-10 rout of Georgia in 1976. The victory gave Arkansas an 8-4 record and #17 final ranking, while Texas finished 9-5 and #21.
