Reporter, Radio One

Many people dream of becoming a reporter, very few are successful. A reporter must be enthusiastic, bold, inquiring and knowledgeable -- and, of course, a comfortable performer with a first class broadcasting voice.

People in this role will be experienced journalists with a natural interest in news and current affairs. The role also requires excellent interviewing skills. Successful Reporters have an eye for a good story and will fully understand their target audience. Working under pressure while maintaining accuracy and sound editorial judgement is must.

BBC Reporters could find themselves in all manner of places; reporting from the Top Gear test track, flying in an RAF helicopter or outside Number 10 interviewing the Prime Minister; no two days will ever be the same.
