Ban Phe - A Random Thai Town that might be my new favourite place.

After leaving Pattaya, I headed towards Rayong, the next city along the coast. I had been online and booked the hostel that was in the city and once in Rayong, I had shown the bus driver the address of the hostel and he proceeded to drive 35 km away and dropped me off at a seaside town of Ban Phe. I wasn't expecting to be here, and after looking around the place, to see if it was worth staying for more than one night, I decided to book an extra 2 nights. The town is not touristy, it's quaint and has a bit of character. The only reason people usually come here, is to head for the ferry port and go across to the Island of Koh Samet.

I discovered that while I was going to be staying here, there was a Kite Festival with lots of kites and stalls, which sounded interesting.

I managed to capture a good side of the town and I would definitely recommend any backpacker to come here to chill after a crazy time at Pattaya, and is perfect for anyone who is heading on their way to the border of Cambodia as a stop off point.

I am an older backpacker travelling the world, proving that backpacking is not just for the younger generation.
