Using A Flat Iron At 450°!!

Описание к видео Using A Flat Iron At 450°!!

**Guys, I am fully aware that no one holds the iron on for 5 seconds! This is a blantant example to show that high heat fades color. Even when you glide the iron at this high temp, the color will gradually fade each time it’s done. If you pay to get your color done, you are decreasing the longevity each time you iron it with high heat.**

So we all know that using your iron all the way up is bad, but do you know how bad?? 😬 If you pay to get your color done, don’t destroy it with heat tools!

Here are some tips to help you avoid discoloration and damage from your irons:

✨ Avoid heat tools as much as possible, get creative with braids and learn to embrace your natural wave pattern!

✨ Always spray a thermal protectant on immediately before you iron

✨ Turn your irons as low as you can, start at 300° and go up as needed. I never use an iron on anyone ever over 390° and that is with the coarsest hair out there

✨ Fast passes are better than slow passes. If you are slower with the iron turn it down more, if you are quicker with it you can go a LITTLE higher

✨ Use a high quality iron with ceramic or titanium plates

✨ This is why I prefer to curl with a flat iron vs curling iron. A flat iron hits both sides of the hair and isn’t left on one spot at all. When using a curling iron it’s only hitting one side, so it needs to sit on longer to penetrate through the section, and can cause discoloration on the side against the iron
