The Railway Museum of Catalonia(officially in Catalan, Museu del Ferrocarril de Catalunya) is an institution dedicated to promoting knowledge and dissemination of the railway that is located in the town of Villanueva y Geltrú, right next to from the train station, Inaugurated on August 5, 1990.

The museum is located in an old steam locomotive depot, its oldest building dates back to 1881, the year in which the Villanueva and Geltrú railway connection with the city of Barcelona was inaugurated. When it was closed, the space was left in a situation of abandonment, being used exclusively to deposit the old steam locomotives as they were retiring.

The most important collection of the Museum is that of vehicles, made up of 54 vehicles of all eras and technologies, distributed both indoor and outdoor area. It is considered one of the most important technical collections internationally, by number and variety. The most prominent part is made up of the 25 steam locomotives, whose dating ranges between the mid-19th and 20th centuries. Among them stands out the oldest preserved locomotive in Spain (120-2112 "Martorell"), the locomotive with the highest traction effort (151F-3101 type Santa Fe) or the last that circulated with steam traction in Spain (141F-2348 type Mikado ).
