Through a series of my own myopic procrastination, I found myself at the Dallas Fort Worth airport, before a connection to Nashville, having to furiously learn the lyrics and chords to "You Can Call Me Al" – for the AmericanaFest kick-off show that day. In the cramming, I saw that behind the bass solos, inscrutable chorus, and dancing Chevy Chase, is an incredibly beautiful song about finding yourself in a foreign land.
