The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has held a consultative meeting with the governors elected under on the platform of the party over the choice of his running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This is the first major meeting between the PDP Governors and the party's presidential candidate after the May 28 national convention .

Briefing journalists at Legacy House in Abuja on the outcome of the meeting, the Chairman of the PDP governors Forum and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal affirmed that theatter was discussed including other sundry issues related to the party's consultative efforts towards winning 2023 general elections.

The main opposition party has been making frantic efforts to pick a running mate for its presidential candidate where the likes of Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa is reportedly mentioned as one of the favorites to clinch the position.
