Ayurveda Doctors Can Now Perform Surgery | Experts Speak Up

The government of India has now allowed, postgraduate degree holders of Ayurveda to perform a variety of surgeries including orthopaedic, ophthalmology, ENT and dental procedures.

The Indian Medical Association has demanded a withdrawal of the notification authorising post-graduate Ayurveda practitioners to be trained to perform general surgical procedures. They say that the move is a confused mix, of medical education and practice.
