Step by step Installation and Configuration of ESXI 8.0 on VMware Workstation Pro 17

Before installing ESXI 8.0 try to read the vmware documentation. But if you are like me I like to install the application first, use my experience and knowledge before reading for they have far too many reading materials to digest. This also gives me the opportunity to evaluate the ease or difficulty or how intuitive the installation of an application can be. 1. Before installing ESXI on VMware Workstation Pro, I’ve already installed a Windows server, Win2019S1, configured as a Domain Controller, DNS and DHCP server, as shown. Its domain name is plaza.com and the network card is configured as bridged so that any device outside VMware Workstation Pro are able to communicate with this server.
2. Create ESXI8-1 virtual machine, as shown
Note:
We will install VCSA on this Virtual machine. Because of the limitation of my laptop, 32GB memory, I can only use the Tiny Deployment size. We will set the memory to 16GB(possibly more later), Hard Drive to 600GB. We will have a NIC card configured as bridged and add 3 more NICs for later use.

3. Install ESXI server from the VMware-VMvisor-Intaller ISO image, as shown.

"Jumpstart plugin XXXX activation failed: Method invocation failed" errors.Cause
The one cause of the issue is associated to the fact that some plug-in features are not enabled.In this case,the services exit the startup with incorrect exit code which causes the jumpstart to fail.
Impact / Risks
This is a known issue and currently causes no functional impact.

4. Press enter and do as prompted.
5. Create a password and press enter.
6. Press enter to continue, Press enter again to force the installation
7. Press F11 to Install ESXI server.
8. Remove the ISO image and press enter to Reboot.

9. Configure the ESXI host with the following
IPv4 - Static
IP address - 192.168.1.101
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 192.168.1.1
IPv6 - Disabled
DNS Server - 192.168.1.4, 8.8.8.8
Hostname - ESXI8-1
Suffixes - plaza.com

10. Click “y” to reboot.
11. Continue with the Configuration, perform a Ping and Hostname resolution, as shown.
With the failure of Resolving hostname, create an A Record and Reverse Lookup for ESXI8-1 server and VSphere Appliance, VCSA8 on the Windows server, then retest, as shown.

12. Test ESXI host by accessing with web browser, as shown.
