0:00. Introduction and how got into the area
5:23. Lifestyle factors contribute to cancer risk etc
6:23. Exercise and cancer control continuum
We discussed how exercise reduces the risk of cancer, improves treatments and outcomes, reduces reoccurrence, and improves the state of mind of cancer patients and survivors.
11:01. People close to us and cancer
15:14. History of exercise oncology

30:34. Similarities with diabetes
Similar to diabetes, cancer is a metabolic disease, and exercise improves metabolism. Inflammation. Indeed, as you will hear Kathryn arrived at cancer and exercise research after first undertaking metabolic type research. A lot of the effects of exercise training are due to each acute exercise bout.
36:28. Exercise during cancer/during chemotherapy
Kathryn also described how exercise effects the blood flow to tumours which can help with treatment delivery.
40:49. Exercise guidelines when have cancer
Recognize that will have bad days but "try to do something" everyday and will find days that can do something.

53:06. Genetic variability of responses to exercise
54:43. Doctors need to suggest exercise
Kathryn pointed out that although 80% of oncologists knew it was part of their job to talk with their patients about exercise, only 14.7% of patients are prescribed exercise.
