New JK-BMS: Software & Connectivity | Part 2

This is the video we have waited for! Connecting the new #JKBMS for the very first time. We will have a comprehensive look at the Bluetooth app, the PC software and CAN communication to the #Victron Venus OS.
The Bluetooth app is the same as for the 'older' JK-BMS and therefore, it looks very familiar and has the same feel. It works well and has all the settings we are used to.
Unfortunately, the communication protocols are not well implemented and very confusing. It took me a very long time until I could finally connect to the PC software. Lots of consultation, back and forward with JK... Several days into the #testing, JK suggested the BMS may be faulty, having all these issues. We went through the same troubleshooting over and over again... Welcome to the Groundhog Day!

The PC software looks very identical to the mobile app. Connecting to the JK-BMS is not easy. It's buggy and cumbersome. RS232 is not working at all, RS485 confusing as the correct protocol and DIP switches have to be set before it even works.
Well, and then there is the CAN communication to the Victron Venus OS. Oh, boy, what have they done...!?

I'm sure we will work through these challenges, but it will be a long way.
