If you have cash lying in your bank account and you know that you are going to need this cash in the next 90 days, instead of leaving it in the bank account and generating 2-3% returns, you can consider investing in liquid funds that can give you 4-5% returns.

Infact Liquid funds give slightly better returns than short term fixed deposits.

Liquid funds have no lock in period so you can withdraw any time.

Also there is no exit load as long as you keep the money for at least 7 days

And when you withdraw the money, you will get the money back within 1 workday

Liquid Funds are mutual funds which invest in short term loans (up to 91 days). These loans are given to Govt or very reputed companies so the default rate is close to 0.

Best time to invest in Liquid Funds is when REPO rate is increasing which is what is exactly happening right now.
