Channel Islands Fish Beard Surfboard Review

Ian reviews the Channel Islands Fish Beard Surfboard: https://www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/ch...

The Channel Islands FishBeard surfboard is Mr Merrick's latest incarnation of the much revered NeckBeard and NeckBeard II.

If the original NeckBeard is anything to go by, the FishBeard is destined for great things. The original NeckBeard is one of the few boards which surfers seem to replace like-for-like...the true sign of a magic stick.

The FishBeard came about when Parker Coffin had one of those 'light bulb' moments declaring "a NeckBeard 2 would work sick as a twin-fin Fish!" So Brit and the team got to work redesigning the back end (both template and rocker) of the NB2, teamed it with the Futures Channel Islands keel fins and the FishBeard was spawned.

The FishBeard is nothing like the CI Fish, it's a much sleeker more performance oriented board, a bit like the much maligned 'mullet' haircut..business in the front and party at the back!

Adopt a neutral, central stance and the FishBeard will take off and deliver all the flow you could possibly want. While the FishBeard is definitely a user friendly shortboard, simply step back over the twin-fins and the thing comes alive. Engage the fins and rails which provide hold, pivot, projection and you can rip as hard as ever.

The FishBeard comes with a brand-new graphics package and some funky, fluorescent logos from the mid 1980's.

User friendly for the intermediate shortboarder, ripable for the good guys and girls, the FishBeard would make a brilliant addition to your quiver if you want to inject some fun back into your sessions.

As a premier Channel Islands stockist, we pride ourselves on giving what we think is good solid advice without any of the over-eager sales driven BS often encountered by our customers elsewhere.

We're happy to consider taking your old or unwanted board as a trade in against a surfboard, so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to [email protected] or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250
