SBI Clerk Exam Pattern: Prelims and Mains

Prelims Exam Pattern
The SBI Clerk Prelims exam has three sections:
1. English Language
30 questions, 30 marks
Time duration: 20 minutes

2. Numerical Ability
35 questions, 35 marks
Time duration: 20 minutes

3. Reasoning Ability
35 questions, 35 marks
Time duration: 20 minutes


Total Questions: 100
Total Marks: 100
Total Time: 1 hour (60 minutes)
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer

Purpose: Qualifying for the Mains exam-

Mains Exam Pattern
The SBI Clerk Mains exam consists of four sections:

1. General/Financial Awareness
50 questions, 50 marks
Time duration: 35 minutes

2. General English
40 questions, 40 marks
Time duration: 35 minutes

3. Quantitative Aptitude
50 questions, 50 marks
Time duration: 45 minutes

4. Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude
50 questions, 60 marks
Time duration: 45 minutes

Total Questions: 190
Total Marks: 200
Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer

Key Points For Both Exams :-

Prelims is qualifying in nature, and marks are not considered in the final selection.

Mains marks are crucial for the final selection.
There is no sectional cutoff in either exam; selection depends on the overall cutoff.

After Mains, candidates must clear the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) for final selection, depending on the state applied.
